Value Added Resellers are organizations which buy or rent a product from one company, modify it by adding value in some form, and then resell it to a 3rd party. The term originally applied to companies which bought computer hardware from the manufacturer, added software designed and built to satisfy needs in a specific market, and then marketed, sold, and supported their solution to the target audience.
Today’s VARs cover a wide range of solutions, including companies like Gossamar which rent software from several vendors, add services and our own components, and then resell the whole solution in the form of a one-stop-shop for Sales and marketing automation systems.
