Search Engine Submission

A Search Engine Submission occurs when a specific URL, or set of specific URLs, is sent to a search engine such as Google, MSN or Yahoo! The intent of the submission is to cause the search engine’s Web-crawler to index the site as soon as possible.

Submitting a site to a search engine does not ensure that its indexed, unless you perform a paid submission process. It should also be noted that submitting a site does not improve its PR – for that one must perform SEO.

Submission can be filled out in an online form, or via an automatic software service.
