Sales Leads
Sales Leads are Prospects who have been further qualified as either a Marketing Qualified Lead (MQL), or Sales Qualified Lead, or SQL.
Within this Glossary and in our Inbound Marketing Automation systems, we use the following naming conventions:
Visitors are people who arrive on the website. They begin as first time visitors (and are thus unique by definition), return as Active Visitors, and when (if) they supply their name and email address, they become Prospects. When they achieve a sufficiently high score to become sales ready, they become Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and are handed off to Sales via a feed into the CRM system. Once in the CRM, they are either rejected, recycled back to Marketing for further nurturing, or graduated to a Sales Qualified Lead, or SQL.
