This number is the net-present-value (NPV) of all the expected revenue from a customer over their lifetime as a customer.
If you don’t have this number handy in marketing, here’s a quick approximation: multiply the average annual customer revenue by the average number of years that clients remain customers of your company. Or simply buy your counterpart in the finance department a coffee, and let the number crunchers do their thing.
