Personas
Personas are models of people built for a specific purpose. For example, in computer systems design (good design projects, anyway), a Persona is modeled on each type or class of eventual user of the system, allowing the designer to imagine the user interacting with the system. Focusing one’s mind on an actual image of a person (right down to a photograph of an actual user) improves the eventual User Experience.
In marketing terms, Personas help people imagine interacting with their ideal prospects. The world of Inbound Marketing eliminates much of this, however, as it’s possible to interact with real prospects when they enter in a Sales and Marketing Automation system funnel.
