CRM Database

CRM Databases are part of CRM Systems and house the data associated with leads, prospects and clients. In well-designed systems, the database acts as a single repository shared by both the CRM System and the Inbound Marketing Automation System. In addition to tracking each person’s name, title and company information, the database stores:

  • Activity or online behaviour gathered from the Marketing System’s Analytics and tracking software
  • Sales related activities such as all contact instances (date, time, conversations, results, followups, etc.)
  • Potential or actual sales opportunity values
  • Special handling or instructions recorded here for all marketing and sales staff to note.

The database itself is usually implemented in a commercially available database package such as MySql.
