Cost-per-Thousand (CPM)

Cost-per-Thousand (CPM) for an online ad is the cost to display 1,000 impressions (an impression is the display of the ad in the visitor’s browser). This is sometimes used for banner ads, and contrasts to PPC ads for which each impression is usually free, but each click incurs a cost.
