Conversion Goal
A Conversion Goal, in the context of Inbound Marketing, is the intended action to be taken by a visitor to a web-page. For example, many landing pages contain a “call to action”, such as completing a form, downloading some content, or signing up for a webinar or email newsletter.
Web analytics software, such as Google Analytics, have Conversion Goals built-in, and report Conversion Rates on a macro level (for example, the combined rate for all visitors in a market segment). Inbound Marketing Automation systems, on the other hand, can report on the achievement of Conversion Goals on a micro level, for each individual visitor and prospect.
