Bounce Rate
Bounce Rate represents the effectiveness of your Landing or Home Pages, in that it reveals how many visitors arrive and leave without viewing another page. It is one of the variables tracked by Google Analytics. It’s important to note that the time a visitor spends on the page they arrive on does not affect the Bounce Rate. As far as Google is concerned, if the person spends half an hour on this first page and then leaves without visiting another page, it’s a bounce.
For this reason, websites with an active blog usually experience a Bounce Rate as high as 60% or more, because people come to read a post and then leave. Especially if they are frequent visitors and have thus read or explored your site already.
